Nouveau Bassin is Sète's main working marina, tucked into a lively port town built on a narrow island between the Étang de Thau lagoon and the Mediterranean. You're right in the thick of things here — the waterfront is lined with seafood restaurants serving the local specialty, tielle Sétoise, and the bustling fish market is just a short walk away. The canal-laced town itself is the real draw, often called the "Venice of Languedoc," with its famous joutes nautiques (water jousting tournaments) adding a distinctly local flavor you won't find anywhere else on this coast.
