Perissa

Perissa is a black volcanic sand beach on Santorini's southeastern coast, where you anchor off and take in the dramatic backdrop of Mesa Vouno mountain looming directly overhead. The dark shoreline feels almost otherworldly, a direct result of the island's ancient volcanic past. From here you're close to the archaeological site of Ancient Thira perched up on the ridge, and the beach's long stretch of tavernas and cafes is easily reached by dinghy.
