Sparrows Beach

Sparrows Beach sits on the south side of Back Creek, just off the western shore of the Chesapeake Bay, and carries a meaningful piece of history — it was one of the few places Black residents could freely swim and gather during segregation. The spot has a quiet, storied feel to it, and the historic waterfront setting is now officially part of Annapolis after the city took ownership of the property. Drop the hook here and you're within easy reach of downtown Annapolis, one of the most historically rich towns on the East Coast.
