The Maldives National Museum sits inside Sultan Park in the heart of Malé and is one of the few places where you can actually dig into the country's pre-resort history. Spread across two floors, it traces the islands from the old sultanate era all the way through to modern times, with royal artifacts, ancient carvings, and relics you won't find anywhere else in the country. It's small, but genuinely worth your time — especially given how much of Maldivian culture stays hidden beneath the surface.
