Eide Handel

Eide Handel is a family-run grocery store on Kvaløya, about 10km outside Tromsø on the road to Sommarøy, and it's worth a detour. This is no ordinary supermarket — it's been operating since 1953 and claims the largest fresh food counter in northern Norway, with a strong focus on local and seasonal produce. Don't leave without grabbing some of the cooked cold shrimp, a local favourite.
