Right in the middle of Fethiye town, the Likya Lahiti is a 4th-century BC Lycian sarcophagus that somehow ended up sitting casually among modern streets — a surreal sight. The ornate tomb, with its distinctive pointed lid and carved reliefs, is a rare surviving example of Lycian funerary architecture and one of the best-preserved of its kind. It's oddly moving to stumble across something this ancient just sitting out in the open, free to walk up to and inspect up close.
