Roman Baths

The Terme Romane are ancient Roman baths dating back to the 1st century AD, built in multiple phases over time — a rare slice of Roman history right in the heart of Messina. Walking through the ruins, you get a real sense of the layered past of this city, which has been continuously rebuilt and reinvented through centuries of earthquakes and invasions. It's a surprisingly off-the-beaten-path stop compared to Sicily's more famous archaeological sites.
