Witte Swaen

This is where you can see the rebuilt 16th-century vessel that carried explorer Willem Barentsz and his crew on their legendary 1596 Arctic expedition in search of a northern trade route to Asia. Barentsz was born on nearby Terschelling and set sail from Harlingen, making this the perfect home for the project. The craftsmanship and history here are genuinely impressive — and entry is free, so there's no reason not to stop in.
