Old Olive Tree

This ancient olive tree in the Heraklion municipality was planted around 1540 AD, making it roughly 480 years old and a living piece of Cretan history. It's the kind of thing that quietly blows your mind — you're standing next to a tree that was already mature when entire empires rose and fell. Crete is famous for its ancient olives, some dating back thousands of years, so this one is a younger but still remarkable example you can actually get up close to.
