Byzantine Museum of Chios

The Byzantine Museum of Chios is housed in a beautifully restored Ottoman mosque right on the central square of Chios Town — which already makes it unlike most museums you'll walk into. Inside, you'll find a compact but fascinating collection spanning the Byzantine period through the Genoese occupation, quietly rich with history given how few places in Greece layer those two eras together. Open daily except Tuesdays, 8:30–15:30.
