Sant'Elia

Church· 17 min from marina (1384m)

Sant'Elia is a 16th-century Catholic church perched on the promontory of the same name, dedicated to the prophet Elijah and sitting near the medieval Tower of Saint Elia — one of those spots where history layers quietly on top of itself. It belongs to the Archdiocese of Cagliari and shares its name with the nearby stadium, which hosted three matches during the 1990 FIFA World Cup. If you make it out to the promontory, you're getting both a genuinely old place of worship and sweeping views of one of Sardinia's most historically loaded headlands.
