Frequently Asked Questions

Is this boat insured, and who pays for damage?
Yes — every boat on charter.boats is insured by its operator; we require it. The policy covers the vessel for fire, collision and third-party liability. For damage it doesn't cover, your liability is usually limited to the security deposit, except where the operator's terms say otherwise. Operator terms: The yacht is insured against third-party damage, fire, lightning, explosion, theft or robbery, natural disasters, marine and collision risks, and other loss or damage except equipment as stated in the contract.
How much will fuel cost?
Fuel isn't included — you return the tank full. Estimated from engine power: this boat's ~214 HP engines burn roughly 17.1 L/h while motoring, so a typical week (about 3 h a day, ~21 h) works out to roughly 359 L ≈ €671 at €1.87/L — scale it to your own plans.
Do I need a sailing licence in Croatia?
Not if you add a skipper — this boat offers one, who holds the licence. Generally, though: At least one crew member must hold a recognised sailing licence (ICC or national equivalent) plus a VHF/SRC radio operator certificate, both checked on arrival.
Can I bring my dog or another pet on board?
Animals are only allowed on board with our express permission, so please ask us before you book and get the okay in writing.
Are there limits on how I can use the boat?
Yes. The boat can't be used for carrying paying passengers, commercial fishing, re-chartering or any other gainful activity. Racing needs our express agreement, and towing is only allowed in an emergency.
Where and when am I allowed to sail?
We may limit the boat's range depending on its category or if sailing conditions are unsafe or unusual, and we can also ban night sailing. Please follow any such restriction, as the skipper is responsible for ignoring it.
What happens if bad weather affects my trip?
Plan your schedule with bad weather in mind so you can be back on time. You should only leave a protected harbour when good seamanship allows, and you should move away from unsafe anchorages or moorings if the forecast calls for it.
What should I do if something breaks during my trip?
Contact us first, and we'll tell you how to arrange the repair. If you can't reach us, you can arrange a repair yourself for up to 100 euros and we'll refund it against the bill, unless the damage came from careless handling. Keep any replaced parts. For major damage or an accident, tell us right away.
When is the best time to sail in Croatia?
May–October, with the most reliable maestral winds and warm seas in June–September; July–August are the hottest and busiest.
