Is this boat insured, and who pays for damage?

Yes — every boat on charter.boats is insured by its operator; we require it. The policy covers the vessel for fire, collision and third-party liability. You're only responsible for damage it doesn't cover, and that's capped at the security deposit. Operator terms: Guest liable for all damages caused by guest or third party during charter period.

How much will fuel cost?

Fuel isn't included, and on a powerboat it's the biggest variable cost. At a typical planing cruise this boat's 300 HP engine burn roughly 45 L/h — about €84 an hour at €1.87/L. It depends heavily on speed: easing off the throttle cuts it sharply, running flat out raises it. Plan your fuel around the hours and speed you expect to cruise.

Do I need a sailing licence in Croatia?

At least one crew member must hold a recognised sailing licence (ICC or national equivalent) plus a VHF/SRC radio operator certificate, both checked on arrival.

Will my sailing competence be checked?

You must have good seamanship and enough experience to command the yacht, or provide a skipper who does. If you or your skipper lack the required licence or proof of competence for the boat class, we may refuse handover or place a skipper aboard at your cost.

Are there limits on where and how we sail?

Please stay within our designated sailing area, don't use the boat commercially or carry strangers, and never use it to tow water toys such as wakeboards, water skis or jet skis.

When should we stay in port?

Don't leave a sheltered harbour when winds of force 7 Beaufort or more are forecast. Inform yourself about local conditions such as currents and changing water levels in strong winds before setting off.

What daily checks are we responsible for?

Check the oil, coolant and bilges daily and watch the cooling-water outlet. Damage from running the engine dry isn't covered and is your responsibility. Use heavy draws like the anchor winch or bow thruster only with the engines running.

Is the yacht tracked?

Yes, the yacht carries a GPS tracker. By chartering, you agree that its position and data may be recorded and shared with us, and with the insurer in the event of a claim.
