Yes — every boat on charter.boats is insured by its operator; we require it. The policy covers the vessel for fire, collision and third-party liability. For damage it doesn't cover, your liability is usually limited to the security deposit, except where the operator's terms say otherwise. Operator terms: The owner insures the yacht and equipment under Greek law against fire, marine and collision risks, third-party damage and loss or damage. The charterer is relieved of liability covered by the policy unless the loss is caused by gross negligence or wilful default.

Not if you add a skipper — this boat offers one, who holds the licence. Generally, though: Two crew with proof of competence are required — a skipper holding an ICC or national equivalent and a co-skipper who signs a declaration of sailing experience.

The boat is for private pleasure use only by you and your party. Racing (unless agreed in writing), towing other craft except in an emergency, subletting and carrying anyone not on the crew list are not allowed. Breaking customs, fishing or archaeological-protection laws ends the agreement.

You can cruise within Greek seas unless we agree otherwise in writing. You'll also need to plan your route to reach your farthest port within the first third of the charter. Two days before the end, stay within 40 nautical miles of the return base.

For safety you must not leave a port or anchorage when wind is, or is forecast to be, above Beaufort 6 or when the port authorities ban sailing. Keep in mind that a late return caused by weather still counts as late and carries a daily charge.

Your party must include at least one qualified skipper and one experienced sailor. We may ask you and your crew to demonstrate competence at sea with us aboard. If that isn't satisfactory, we may place a skipper aboard at your expense or end the charter.

Only people on your crew/passenger manifest may be aboard, and never more than the maximum shown in the yacht's documents. If crew members join or leave during the trip, they must be listed on the provided form and registered with the local port authority by the skipper.
