Frequently Asked Questions
Is this boat insured, and who pays for damage?
Yes — every boat on charter.boats is insured by its operator; we require it. The policy covers the vessel for fire, collision and third-party liability. For damage it doesn't cover, your liability is usually limited to the security deposit, except where the operator's terms say otherwise. Operator terms: All yachts are covered by hull & machinery insurance and third-party liability insurance (P&I where applicable). There is no insurance cover if the yacht is used in a race.
How much will fuel cost?
Fuel isn't included — you return the tank full. Estimated from engine power: this boat's ~110 HP engine burns roughly 8.8 L/h while motoring, so a typical week (about 3 h a day, ~21 h) works out to roughly 185 L ≈ €346 at €1.87/L — scale it to your own plans.
Do I need a sailing licence in Croatia?
Not if you add a skipper — this boat offers one, who holds the licence. Generally, though: At least one crew member must hold a recognised sailing licence (ICC or national equivalent) plus a VHF/SRC radio operator certificate, both checked on arrival.
Can I enter a race with the boat?
No. The yachts may not be used for races without written permission, and there is no insurance cover if a boat is raced. If it is raced without our consent, the skipper alone is liable for any damage.
Are there any places I'm not allowed to sail?
You may not pass the Zdrelac bridge between Ugljan and Pasman unless you have our written approval beforehand.
What should I do if I find a defect or something breaks?
Test all systems right after leaving the marina. If you find a defect, return to the marina so our local crew can fix it. For minor wear-and-tear repairs up to 200, you can have them done and we refund the invoice, but keep any replaced parts. Anything larger needs our consent first.
What happens if bad weather affects my trip?
Once you have accepted the yacht, we are not liable for incidents or interruptions caused by weather or other force majeure. If the voyage can't continue because of reparable wear-and-tear or hidden defects, you get a proportionate refund for the unused time.
What happens if I return the boat late?
Your contract terms stay in force for the whole delay. If you're to blame for it, you carry the risk of force majeure and can be held liable for any consequential damage. You can't extend your charter without our consent.
