Frequently Asked Questions
Is this boat insured, and who pays for damage?
Yes — every boat on charter.boats is insured by its operator; we require it. The policy covers the vessel for fire, collision and third-party liability. You're only responsible for damage it doesn't cover, and that's capped at the security deposit.
How much will fuel cost?
Fuel isn't included, and on a powerboat it's the biggest variable cost. At a typical planing cruise this boat's 430 HP engine burn roughly 65 L/h — about €86 an hour at €1.33/L. It depends heavily on speed: easing off the throttle cuts it sharply, running flat out raises it. Plan your fuel around the hours and speed you expect to cruise.
Do I need a sailing licence in Malta?
A recognised sailing licence is required and, by Maltese law, the skipper must also hold a VHF radio operator licence.

When is the best time to sail in Malta?
April–November; long, hot, dry summers with light-to-moderate breezes and one of the longest sailing seasons in the Mediterranean.
