Frequently Asked Questions
Is this boat insured, and who pays for damage?
Yes — every boat on charter.boats is insured by its operator; we require it. The policy covers the vessel for fire, collision and third-party liability. You're only responsible for damage it doesn't cover, and that's capped at the security deposit. Operator terms: All crew members must have current personal holiday travel insurance
How much will fuel cost?
Fuel isn't included — you return the tank full. This boat's ~100 HP engines burn roughly 8 L/h while motoring, so a typical week (about 3 h a day, ~21 h) works out to roughly 168 L ≈ €314 at €1.87/L — scale it to your own plans. Many skippers run one engine on passage to roughly halve fuel use — ask your operator if that’s fine for your boat.
Do I need a sailing licence in Croatia?
At least one crew member must hold a recognised sailing licence (ICC or national equivalent) plus a VHF/SRC radio operator certificate, both checked on arrival.
What does the skipper do, and what is not their job?
Your skipper handles all navigation, mooring, anchoring and manoeuvring, checks the yacht in and out, and shows you the safety equipment and emergency procedures. They will also happily share local tips on anchorages, restaurants and sights. Cleaning and cooking are not part of the skipper's duties.
Is night sailing allowed on this catamaran?
No, night sailing and overnight anchoring in a bay are not permitted due to insurance restrictions, so the yacht stays in a marina or port overnight. You may tie up to a buoy in front of a restaurant for a maximum of two days a week.
How many hours a day will we sail?
The skipper sails for roughly five hours per day at most unless otherwise agreed, and will plan the route with you based on safety, weather and what you would like to see.
Do you offer a cook, and what meals are provided?
You can add a hostess or hostess/cook who helps with mooring and shopping and prepares breakfast, snacks, drinks and, with the cook option, light Mediterranean lunches. Please note a hostess/cook is not a chef, so haute cuisine is not on offer. They clean the common areas but not guest cabins or bathrooms.
Will the crew need help when mooring?
Because of the size of the catamaran, the skipper needs someone to handle the lines during mooring. If no one aboard has a B or C sailing licence and mooring experience, we recommend adding a hostess to assist, which we offer at a reasonable price.
