About this boat

Out of Rabac, the maestral fills in by midday and fades by evening, leaving short, sheltered hops between islands for easy sailing with kids aboard. Most nights end on a town quay, dinner ashore just steps from the boat.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this boat insured, and who pays for damage?
Yes — every boat on charter.boats is insured by its operator; we require it. The policy covers the vessel for fire, collision and third-party liability. For damage it doesn't cover, your liability is usually limited to the security deposit, except where the operator's terms say otherwise. Operator terms: The boat is insured against all maritime risks, including third-party liability. Major damage or accidents must be reported within 12 hours to the Maritime Officials (Harbor Captain or Police) and to the charter base, otherwise the insurer will not accept the claim and the…
How much will fuel cost?
Fuel isn't included — you return the tank full. Estimated from engine power: this boat's ~29 HP engine burns roughly 2.3 L/h while motoring, so a typical week (about 3 h a day, ~21 h) works out to roughly 48 L ≈ €90 at €1.87/L — scale it to your own plans.
Do I need a sailing licence in Croatia?
Not if you add a skipper — this boat offers one, who holds the licence. Generally, though: At least one crew member must hold a recognised sailing licence (ICC or national equivalent) plus a VHF/SRC radio operator certificate, both checked on arrival.
Are there limits on how I can use the boat?
Yes. You can't sublet or lend the boat, enter regattas, or use it commercially or for professional fishing. You'll also be asked to check the engine oil and water daily and look after the boat like a good captain.
Where am I allowed to sail?
You can sail within Croatian territorial waters. Going anywhere else needs special written permission from us first.
What if my sailing experience isn't enough?
Our Base Manager checks that you have the knowledge and ability to handle the boat. If you don't, or you lack a valid licence, we can place a professional skipper on board for the safety of your crew and the vessel.
What happens if something breaks during my trip?
Tell us right away. If the problem comes from a defect in the boat, we'll fix it within 24 hours of your report. If you need help at sea, we'll carry out or organize a technical intervention, whatever the cause.
What happens if I return the boat late?
Returning after the Saturday 9:00 AM check-out without agreement costs you half a day's charter price for up to 3 hours late, and a full day's price for 3 to 5 hours. Beyond 5 hours we must alert the police and SAR, and the penalty depends on the costs caused.
When is the best time to sail in Croatia?
May–October, with the most reliable maestral winds and warm seas in June–September; July–August are the hottest and busiest.
