Yes — every boat on charter.boats is insured by its operator; we require it. The policy covers the vessel for fire, collision and third-party liability. For damage it doesn't cover, your liability is usually limited to the security deposit, except where the operator's terms say otherwise. Operator terms: The charter includes Hull Insurance (total loss or damage to the boat and equipment), Third Party Liability Insurance and Personal Accident Insurance.

Fuel isn't included — you return the tank full. Estimated from engine power: this boat's ~55 HP engine burns roughly 4.4 L/h while motoring, so a typical week (about 3 h a day, ~21 h) works out to roughly 92 L ≈ €172 at €1.87/L — scale it to your own plans.

Not if you add a skipper — this boat offers one, who holds the licence. Generally, though: At least one crew member must hold a recognised sailing licence (ICC or national equivalent) plus a VHF/SRC radio operator certificate, both checked on arrival.

The boat is for pleasure use only. You can't carry cargo or paying passengers, sub-charter it, or take anyone aboard who isn't on your crew list. We also ask you to avoid areas marked as hazardous and to refrain from night sailing.

Only the people named on your crew list can be on the boat. Anyone other than a skipper or cook we provide counts as your guest, and you are responsible for their safety.

We may decline to hand over the boat if we think there's a serious risk of accident or damage, for example because of inexperience or ill health. In that case we'll provide a competent skipper at your expense. If you don't want a skipper, the charter fee is refunded in full and the contract ends.

Allowing for bad weather is your responsibility. We recommend planning a good margin and bringing the boat back to the marina at 18:00 the day before the charter ends.

Tell the Base Manager straight away and don't use other repair shops without approval. If essential equipment fails within 30 miles of the base, we'll repair it within 24 hours or give you a pro-rata refund or a sailing credit. Other breakdowns are serviced, but there's no compensation if repairs take longer than 24 hours.

May–October, with the most reliable maestral winds and warm seas in June–September; July–August are the hottest and busiest.
