Frequently Asked Questions

Is this boat insured, and who pays for damage?
Yes — every boat on charter.boats is insured by its operator; we require it. The policy covers the vessel for fire, collision and third-party liability. You're only responsible for damage it doesn't cover, and that's capped at the security deposit. Operator terms: Obligatory boat insurance included in price. Comprehensive insurance exceeding deposit value.
How much will fuel cost?
Fuel isn't included — you return the tank full. This boat's ~114 HP engines burn roughly 9.1 L/h while motoring, so a typical week (about 3 h a day, ~21 h) works out to roughly 191 L ≈ €357 at €1.87/L — scale it to your own plans. Many skippers run one engine on passage to roughly halve fuel use — ask your operator if that’s fine for your boat.
Do I need a sailing licence in Croatia?
At least one crew member must hold a recognised sailing licence (ICC or national equivalent) plus a VHF/SRC radio operator certificate, both checked on arrival.
Could we be asked to prove our sailing competence before setting off?
Yes. We may ask you or your crew to demonstrate that you can handle and navigate the boat safely with our representative aboard. If we are not satisfied, we can place an experienced seaman on board at your cost for as long as we feel is needed for safety; any time spent on this counts as part of your charter.
How far am I allowed to sail?
You are asked to stay within Croatian territorial waters. If you would like to sail beyond them, please request our written permission before your reservation is confirmed.
What uses of the boat are not allowed?
You may not offer accommodation to third parties, lend the boat, take part in races, use it commercially or for professional fishing, or sail in unsafe weather.
Are there weather conditions when I must stay in port?
Yes. Please do not leave a port or anchorage if the wind is, or is forecast to be, over 20 knots, if the authorities have banned sailing, or if any vital part of the boat is damaged. We also ask that you avoid sailing at night and only in areas your charts cover.
What condition should the boat be in when I return it?
Please return the boat to the agreed base port clean and tidy with full fuel tanks, in the same condition you received it. Our representative will check the boat and equipment against the inventory list at handover.
