Frequently Asked Questions

Is this boat insured, and who pays for damage?
Yes — every boat on charter.boats is insured by its operator; we require it. The policy covers the vessel for fire, collision and third-party liability. For damage it doesn't cover, your liability is usually limited to the security deposit, except where the operator's terms say otherwise. Operator terms: The operator provides hull insurance for the yacht and equipment, and liability insurance with no deductible for personal injury and property damage (cover at least EUR 0.5 million). These are included in the charter price.
How much will fuel cost?
Fuel isn't included, and on a powerboat it's the biggest variable cost. Estimated from engine power: at a typical planing cruise this boat's 300 HP engine burns roughly 45 L/h — about €84 an hour at €1.87/L. It depends heavily on speed: easing off the throttle cuts it sharply, running flat out raises it. Plan your fuel around the hours and speed you expect to cruise.
Do I need a sailing licence in Croatia?
Not if you add a skipper — this boat offers one, who holds the licence. Generally, though: At least one crew member must hold a recognised sailing licence (ICC or national equivalent) plus a VHF/SRC radio operator certificate, both checked on arrival.
Can I bring my dog or other pets on board?
Unfortunately not. We don't allow animals on board our yachts.
Are there limits on how I can use the boat?
Yes. Night sailing isn't permitted on motorboat and yacht charters, and we ask you not to leave a protected harbour when constant winds of 7 Bft or more are forecast. Racing, commercial use, fishing for business, sailing lessons, paid transport and sub-chartering are not allowed without our prior written consent, and you can't modify the…
Where am I allowed to sail?
You'll cruise within Croatian territorial waters. If you'd like to leave them, you need our express consent. We may also restrict the area or ban night sailing if navigation conditions are unsafe or unusual.
Will you check my skippering experience?
We may ask for proof of your previous skipper experience when you book and check your ability before handover. If your skills are clearly not sufficient, we can arrange a skipper at your cost. If that isn't possible or you decline, we may refuse to hand over the yacht.
What if bad weather makes me late getting back?
Plan for local wind and weather and stay close to the return port during your last 24 hours. If you expect to be late, tell us right away. If you're more than 2 hours late, we may charge the pro-rata charter price for each started day.
