About this boat

Discover La Peregrina, a 1979 German Frers 72 designed for lovers of the sea and ocean sailing. Measuring 22 meters in length and 5 meters wide, it offers spaciousness, comfort, and exceptional performance on any voyage. The boat has undergone a major refit in 2024/2025: new electronics, furnishings, mattresses, certification, and an extensive list of options for our offshore sailing and charter programs. This classic sailboat can accommodate 12 people plus crew and has 5 cabins and 2 bathrooms, perfect for those seeking adventure without sacrificing comfort. Its generator, refrigerator, and freezer guarantee complete autonomy at sea. With a full teak deck, its bimini, and central cockpit provide a perfect space to relax after a day of sailing while enjoying the seascape. Charter only with a professional skipper.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this boat insured, and who pays for damage?
Yes — every boat on charter.boats is insured by its operator; we require it. The policy covers the vessel for fire, collision and third-party liability. You're only responsible for damage it doesn't cover, and that's capped at the security deposit. Operator terms: Vessel covered by all-risk insurance policy with deductible located onboard. Loss of profit (lucro cesante) not covered.
Do I need a sailing licence in British Virgin Islands?
No formal sailing licence is required, but you must submit a sailing résumé proving recent experience on a similar-sized yacht for company approval.
What can I use the boat for?
The boat is strictly for private leisure and rental use. It may not be used for commercial operations, sub-letting, commercial fishing, sporting competitions, or for carrying goods, weapons, animals, or any dangerous or toxic substances.
Is there a limit on how many people can be aboard?
Yes, the number of people on board can never exceed the boat's maximum capacity, and everyone must be listed on the passenger list.
Who is in charge of the boat during the charter?
The skipper you designate is the boat's skipper at all times and cannot transfer that responsibility to another crew member. You are solely responsible for the boat and for using it in line with the rules of the relevant authorities.
What should I do if something breaks down at sea?
Report any fault to us before doing anything, as we must authorise any repair. Faults from normal wear are fixed at our cost, and if days of your charter are lost we refund the pro-rata price of the boat excluding extras.
How must I return the boat?
The boat must be returned in identical working condition, equipment and inventory as at the start of the charter, at the time and place set in your booking.
When is the best time to sail in British Virgin Islands?
Year-round, with the prime season December–April bringing steady trade winds; June–November is the Atlantic hurricane season.
