Frequently Asked Questions

Is this boat insured, and who pays for damage?
Yes — every boat on charter.boats is insured by its operator; we require it. The policy covers the vessel for fire, collision and third-party liability. You're only responsible for damage it doesn't cover, and that's capped at the security deposit. Operator terms: Each yacht has obligatory insurance for all passengers covering fire, marine, collision risks, and third party damage. Personal property of skipper and crew is not insured and separate insurance is recommended.
How much will fuel cost?
Fuel isn't included, and on a powerboat it's the biggest variable cost. At a typical planing cruise this boat's 370 HP engine burn roughly 56 L/h — about €109 an hour at €1.95/L. It depends heavily on speed: easing off the throttle cuts it sharply, running flat out raises it. Plan your fuel around the hours and speed you expect to cruise.
Do I need a sailing licence in Greece?
Two crew with proof of competence are required — a skipper holding an ICC or national equivalent and a co-skipper who signs a declaration of sailing experience.
What does the charter price include?
The price covers the yacht with all its listed equipment plus the home marina fees. Food, harbour costs in other ports and similar expenses are not included.
What if you think our skipper isn't experienced enough?
You should hold an adequate skipper competency certificate in English. If we feel the skills aren't sufficient for the yacht, we may ask you to take a professional skipper for an extra charge before sailing.
Are there any restrictions on how we use the yacht?
The yacht is for your own recreational use only, so no subletting, lending, commercial use, professional fishing or racing. You may only sail at night in safe weather conditions and must stay within Greek waters.
What condition should we return the yacht in?
We hand the yacht over clean and in proper condition, and ask you to return it the same way. We refill the fuel with a fuel truck on your return and you can top up the water tanks at our base free of charge.
Is there anything we need to check daily on board?
Yes, please check the engine oil and water every day. Damage caused by running low on oil or water isn't insured and would be charged to you, so daily checks really matter.
