Frequently Asked Questions

Is this boat insured, and who pays for damage?
Yes — every boat on charter.boats is insured by its operator; we require it. The policy covers the vessel for fire, collision and third-party liability. You're only responsible for damage it doesn't cover, and that's capped at the security deposit. Operator terms: Charterer's/Skipper's Liability Insurance and Cancellation and Curtailment Insurance are not included and must be obtained separately. Travel Insurance (including Health/Medical) and Skipper's Liability Insurance covering all aspects of trip are advised.
Do I need a sailing licence in Greece?
Two crew with proof of competence are required — a skipper holding an ICC or national equivalent and a co-skipper who signs a declaration of sailing experience.
Is there a skipper and cook on board?
Yes, this is a crewed charter and the price includes the crew, such as a skipper and a cook, so you can relax and enjoy the trip.
Can we smoke on board, and are children welcome?
Smoking is not permitted inside the yacht. Children are very welcome but must be supervised by an adult or nanny in your party at all times.
Can we choose our own itinerary?
We'll suggest itineraries, but all routes are subject to weather and sea conditions and to the captain's approval. As a private charter the captain may change the ports of call at any time for your safety and comfort, and we can't guarantee a specific berth in any port.
Is a tip for the crew expected?
A crew gratuity is customary and entirely at your discretion, typically around 10 to 15 percent of the charter fee.
