Frequently Asked Questions

Is this boat insured, and who pays for damage?
Yes — every boat on charter.boats is insured by its operator; we require it. The policy covers the vessel for fire, collision and third-party liability. For damage it doesn't cover, your liability is usually limited to the security deposit, except where the operator's terms say otherwise. You can lower the deposit by adding the operator’s damage waiver. Operator terms: The vessel carries compulsory third-party liability insurance and comprehensive insurance. Comprehensive insurance covers damage above the security deposit amount, but not damage caused intentionally or by gross negligence.
How much will fuel cost?
Fuel isn't included — you return the tank full. Estimated from engine power: this boat's ~29 HP engine burns roughly 2.3 L/h while motoring, so a typical week (about 3 h a day, ~21 h) works out to roughly 48 L ≈ €90 at €1.87/L — scale it to your own plans.
Do I need a sailing licence in Croatia?
Not if you add a skipper — this boat offers one, who holds the licence. Generally, though: At least one crew member must hold a recognised sailing licence (ICC or national equivalent) plus a VHF/SRC radio operator certificate, both checked on arrival.
Can I bring my dog or cat on board?
Pets are welcome only if you agree it with us in advance. An additional charge applies according to our price list.
Where am I allowed to sail?
You can sail within Croatian territorial waters. If you would like to go beyond them, we must give you a signed permit and the related documents first.
What happens if the weather turns bad during my trip?
Sail only in safe conditions and good visibility. When gusts above 25 knots are announced, follow our base's instructions, whether they allow sailing or tell you to find a safe anchorage. Bad weather doesn't excuse a late return, so contact the base manager if you can't sail or will be delayed.
Will you check our sailing experience?
We may ask your skipper to show their competence at sea with our representative on board, and this time counts as part of your charter. If it isn't sufficient, we'll provide a professional skipper at extra charge.
What should I do if something breaks during the charter?
Tell us and the base immediately. We repair wear-and-tear defects within 24 hours if you cooperate. Contact us before arranging any repair yourself and keep the paid invoice, and report accidents to the nearest Harbor Master.
When is the best time to sail in Croatia?
May–October, with the most reliable maestral winds and warm seas in June–September; July–August are the hottest and busiest.
