Frequently Asked Questions

Is this boat insured, and who pays for damage?
Yes — every boat on charter.boats is insured by its operator; we require it. The policy covers the vessel for fire, collision and third-party liability. For damage it doesn't cover, your liability is usually limited to the security deposit, except where the operator's terms say otherwise. Operator terms: All boats are fully insured: third party and passenger civil liability minimum EUR 300,000 per accident; damage liability to third parties and passengers' yacht EUR 150,000 per accident; sea pollution liability EUR 88,000.
How much will fuel cost?
Fuel isn't included — you return the tank full. Estimated from engine power: this boat's ~34 HP engine burns roughly 2.7 L/h while motoring, so a typical week (about 3 h a day, ~21 h) works out to roughly 57 L ≈ €111 at €1.95/L — scale it to your own plans.
Do I need a sailing licence in Greece?
Not if you add a skipper — this boat offers one, who holds the licence. Generally, though: Two crew with proof of competence are required — a skipper holding an ICC or national equivalent and a co-skipper who signs a declaration of sailing experience.
What sailing experience does my crew need?
At least two people on board, a skipper and an assistant, need some form of sailing certificate or a signed declaration of experience. We may also ask for a sailing resume to check you can sail safely.
What if my sailing skills aren't considered sufficient?
We reserve the right to refuse a charter or to require that you hire a professional skipper if we don't feel your skills are enough. This is to keep you and the boat safe.
Can I charter with a skipper instead of sailing myself?
Yes, we offer both bareboat and skippered charter packages, so you can choose whichever suits your experience.
Can I pay by credit card?
Yes, we accept Visa and MasterCard with an additional 2% handling fee. The booking itself is confirmed with a bank transfer for 50% of the charter fee, and the balance is due 30 days before departure.
Can I book a charter that isn't a full week?
Weekly charters are the norm, but for periods such as ten or twelve days we'll do our best to accommodate you, depending on circumstances.
