Frequently Asked Questions

Is this boat insured, and who pays for damage?
Yes — every boat on charter.boats is insured by its operator; we require it. The policy covers the vessel for fire, collision and third-party liability. For damage it doesn't cover, your liability is usually limited to the security deposit, except where the operator's terms say otherwise. Operator terms: The charter price includes compulsory third-party liability insurance, comprehensive (Casco) insurance up to the registered vessel value, and crew accident insurance. Casco does not cover intentional damage or gross negligence.
How much will fuel cost?
Fuel isn't included — you return the tank full. Estimated from engine power: this boat's ~90 HP engines burn roughly 7.2 L/h while motoring, so a typical week (about 3 h a day, ~21 h) works out to roughly 151 L ≈ €282 at €1.87/L — scale it to your own plans.
Do I need a sailing licence in Croatia?
Not if you add a skipper — this boat offers one, who holds the licence. Generally, though: At least one crew member must hold a recognised sailing licence (ICC or national equivalent) plus a VHF/SRC radio operator certificate, both checked on arrival.
Can I bring my dog on board?
No, pets aren't allowed on our boats. If animals are found aboard, there's a EUR 500 penalty plus EUR 300 for extra final cleaning.
Can I sail at night or take the boat outside Croatian waters?
Night sailing isn't permitted, and you should only sail in safe weather and good visibility. You must stay within Croatian territorial waters unless we give you written consent beforehand.
What sailing experience does my crew need?
You must send us a crew list, including the skipper's boat leader licence number, at least a week before departure. If we judge at handover that you lack the navigation skills, we'll appoint a skipper at the price list rate. If you refuse, we can stop the charter and keep the amount paid.
Are there limits on how I can use the boat?
Yes. Commercial use such as skipper training, sailing school or carrying paying passengers is forbidden. You can't sublet or lend the boat, tow another boat, or race in regattas without our consent.
How many people can come aboard?
Only as many as the boat is registered for, and everyone staying aboard must be on your crew list.
When is the best time to sail in Croatia?
May–October, with the most reliable maestral winds and warm seas in June–September; July–August are the hottest and busiest.
