Frequently Asked Questions

Is this boat insured, and who pays for damage?
Yes — every boat on charter.boats is insured by its operator; we require it. The policy covers the vessel for fire, collision and third-party liability. You're only responsible for damage it doesn't cover, and that's capped at the security deposit. Operator terms: Yacht covered by standard marine policy with 6,000,000 euro third party cover for skipper and crew. Charterer subject to specified deductibles.
How much will fuel cost?
Fuel isn't included — you return the tank full. This boat's ~80 HP engines burn roughly 6.4 L/h while motoring, so a typical week (about 3 h a day, ~21 h) works out to roughly 134 L ≈ €201 at €1.50/L — scale it to your own plans. Many skippers run one engine on passage to roughly halve fuel use — ask your operator if that’s fine for your boat.
Do I need a sailing licence in Turkey?
No licence is required by Turkish law, but charter companies require proof of competence such as an ICC or RYA Day Skipper certificate.
Can I bring my dog or other pets on board?
Unfortunately no. Dogs and other animals are not allowed on any of our yachts.
Is night sailing allowed?
No, night sailing is not permitted, defined as the period from 30 minutes before sunset to 30 minutes after sunrise. Please plan your passages to be safely moored or anchored overnight.
Where am I allowed to sail?
Your cruising area is within Turkish territorial waters. Sailing outside these waters requires our written permission beforehand.
What happens if you decide we are not competent to sail?
We rely on the sailing certificate or experience you provide, but if our team judges that you cannot safely handle the yacht we may either end the charter or, if available, place a skipper on board at your expense. You also agree not to sail single-handed and to always have a competent skipper and lead crew member aboard.
Are racing, rafting up, or towing allowed?
The yacht is for pleasure use only. Racing is not allowed except for pre-booked events under specific conditions, and rafting to another vessel at anchor is strictly prohibited.
When is the best time to sail in Turkey?
April–October along the Turquoise Coast (Bodrum, Göcek, Fethiye); hot, dry summers with gentle afternoon breezes ideal for cruising.
