Frequently Asked Questions

Is this boat insured, and who pays for damage?
Yes — every boat on charter.boats is insured by its operator; we require it. The policy covers the vessel for fire, collision and third-party liability. You're only responsible for damage it doesn't cover, and that's capped at the security deposit. Operator terms: Vessel covered by third-party liability insurance (compulsory) and comprehensive Casco insurance up to registered vessel value. Casco covers damage exceeding deposit but not damage from intentional acts or gross negligence.
How much will fuel cost?
Fuel isn't included — you return the tank full. This boat's ~92 HP engines burn roughly 7.4 L/h while motoring, so a typical week (about 3 h a day, ~21 h) works out to roughly 155 L ≈ €290 at €1.87/L — scale it to your own plans. Many skippers run one engine on passage to roughly halve fuel use — ask your operator if that’s fine for your boat.
Do I need a sailing licence in Croatia?
At least one crew member must hold a recognised sailing licence (ICC or national equivalent) plus a VHF/SRC radio operator certificate, both checked on arrival.
Can I bring a pet on board?
Pets such as dogs, cats or birds are only allowed on board with our prior permission, so please ask us in advance. If we agree to a pet joining you, an additional cleaning charge applies.
Are there limits on where I can sail?
You're free to cruise within Croatian territorial waters. Leaving Croatian waters is only possible with our prior written consent, and you should sail only in safe weather with good visibility.
What happens if you feel our crew lacks the skills to handle the boat?
At handover we check that the person in charge has the navigation skills to operate the vessel safely. If we judge those skills insufficient, we can require a professional skipper to join you, charged per our price list, before the boat may leave the marina.
Is night sailing or racing allowed?
No. We ask that you don't sail at night, take part in regattas or races without our consent, tow other boats, or carry more people than the vessel is registered for.
What condition should the boat be in when we return it?
Please return the boat clean and tidy, with the fuel tank full and ready to sail again, just as you received it. Take all rubbish off the boat and leave it in the marina's designated bin area.
