Frequently Asked Questions

Is this boat insured, and who pays for damage?
Yes — every boat on charter.boats is insured by its operator; we require it. The policy covers the vessel for fire, collision and third-party liability. For damage it doesn't cover, your liability is usually limited to the security deposit, except where the operator's terms say otherwise. Operator terms: All yachts are fully insured, inspected yearly by an International Registry of Shipping, and covered for third party liability at or above the Greek legal minimum. Yacht insurance applies to amounts above the security deposit chosen by the client.
How much will fuel cost?
Fuel isn't included — you return the tank full. Estimated from engine power: this boat's ~114 HP engines burn roughly 9.1 L/h while motoring, so a typical week (about 3 h a day, ~21 h) works out to roughly 191 L ≈ €372 at €1.95/L — scale it to your own plans.
Do I need a sailing licence in Greece?
Not personally — this boat requires a skipper, who holds the licence. Generally, though: Two crew with proof of competence are required — a skipper holding an ICC or national equivalent and a co-skipper who signs a declaration of sailing experience.
What if the operator has doubts about our sailing skills?
We may require you to hire a skipper if any doubt about your sailing skills arises at embarkation. At least one licensed skipper should be in your group, and the license must be sent with your booking confirmation.
Can I charter with a skipper, and what should I know?
Yes, skippered charters are available. The skipper fee is agreed in writing beforehand and paid in full at embarkation. The skipper needs his own cabin, as he sleeps on board throughout the charter.
What condition should I return the boat in?
Please return the yacht in the same condition you received it, at the agreed place. Final cleaning is already included in your rate.
What should I do if there's a problem during my charter?
Contact the base during your charter to report any problem. Any claim must then be made within 14 days of the charter's end, or it can't be accepted.
Are there limits on how I can use the boat?
The yacht must not be used for any illegal purpose or criminal activity. You agree to hold us harmless for any such use during your charter.
