Frequently Asked Questions

Is this boat insured, and who pays for damage?
Yes — every boat on charter.boats is insured by its operator; we require it. The policy covers the vessel for fire, collision and third-party liability. For damage it doesn't cover, your liability is usually limited to the security deposit, except where the operator's terms say otherwise. Operator terms: All boats are insured against third-party liability, damage to hull, machinery and equipment, and sea pollution liability, with a deductible depending on the yacht's value.
How much will fuel cost?
Fuel isn't included — you return the tank full. Estimated from engine power: this boat's ~160 HP engines burn roughly 12.8 L/h while motoring, so a typical week (about 3 h a day, ~21 h) works out to roughly 269 L ≈ €525 at €1.95/L — scale it to your own plans.
Do I need a sailing licence in Greece?
Not personally — this boat requires a skipper, who holds the licence. Generally, though: Two crew with proof of competence are required — a skipper holding an ICC or national equivalent and a co-skipper who signs a declaration of sailing experience.
Can I bring my dog on board?
Yes, small pets up to 4 kg are welcome for EUR 120 per charter.
What sailing experience does my crew need?
One crew member must hold a certificate proving they can skipper, and another experienced crew member must be declared as co-skipper. The co-skipper needs equivalent certification or a signed self-declaration of experience. If we judge your skills insufficient, we may ask you to hire a professional skipper.
Can I hire a skipper or hostess?
Yes. A skipper costs EUR 190 per day and a hostess EUR 170 per day, both plus provisioning. A cook is available on request, and a skipper is also an option if you'd rather not sail yourselves.
Do I need to bring the boat back the day before my charter ends?
Yes, the boat must be back at the base by 18:00 the evening before disembarkation. Check-in and check-out procedures count as part of your charter period.
What's included and what do I pay separately at the base?
Your rate includes final cleaning, one set of bed sheets and towels per person, a welcome kit, 2 SUPs, a dinghy and the first and last night at the marina. Fuel, water, berthing fees and provisioning are extra. Compulsory and optional extras are paid in cash at the base.
