Frequently Asked Questions
Is this boat insured, and who pays for damage?
Yes — every boat on charter.boats is insured by its operator; we require it. The policy covers the vessel for fire, collision and third-party liability. You're only responsible for damage it doesn't cover, and that's capped at the security deposit. Operator terms: Casco insurance with deductible franchises up to deposit amount. Covers Compulsory Passenger Insurance and Compulsory Third Party Insurance.
How much will fuel cost?
Fuel isn't included — you return the tank full. This boat's ~160 HP engines burn roughly 12.8 L/h while motoring, so a typical week (about 3 h a day, ~21 h) works out to roughly 269 L ≈ €503 at €1.87/L — scale it to your own plans. Many skippers run one engine on passage to roughly halve fuel use — ask your operator if that’s fine for your boat.
Do I need a sailing licence in Croatia?
Not personally — a skipper comes with this boat and holds the licence. Generally, though: At least one crew member must hold a recognised sailing licence (ICC or national equivalent) plus a VHF/SRC radio operator certificate, both checked on arrival.
What's included in the charter fee?
Your fee covers the boat and its equipment, the crew listed on your offer, bed linen, the dinghy, gas, autopilot and GPS, mooring in the home port and wireless internet. Marina and mooring fees in other ports are not included.
Do I need to order any extras in advance?
Yes. Any optional services from our price list should be ordered in writing at least 7 days before your charter starts, so we can have everything ready for you.
When do you need our crew list?
Please send us the full crew list no later than 7 days before your charter begins. It also helps to share your approximate arrival time and flight number so we can organise a smooth check-in.
Can we sail outside Croatian waters?
If you would like to sail beyond Croatian territorial waters, please let us know in writing as early as possible and no later than 45 days before your start date, as the boat needs additional insurance for this and the extra cost is yours to cover.
What happens with minor repairs during our trip?
For small repairs needed through normal wear and tear, you may arrange the work up to a total of 150 euros and we will reimburse you at check-out against receipts.
