Frequently Asked Questions

Is this boat insured, and who pays for damage?
Yes — every boat on charter.boats is insured by its operator; we require it. The policy covers the vessel for fire, collision and third-party liability. For damage it doesn't cover, your liability is usually limited to the security deposit, except where the operator's terms say otherwise. Operator terms: The boat has an all-risk policy covering accidents to the boat, civil liability and occupants, within the limits of the policy's general and particular conditions. The excess per claim is EUR 1,500.
How much will fuel cost?
Fuel isn't included — you return the tank full. Estimated from engine power: this boat's ~114 HP engines burn roughly 9.1 L/h while motoring, so a typical week (about 3 h a day, ~21 h) works out to roughly 191 L ≈ €327 at €1.71/L — scale it to your own plans.
Do I need a sailing licence in Spain?
Not personally — this boat requires a skipper, who holds the licence. Generally, though: A recognised sailing licence is required, with an ICC typically requested for non-Spanish skippers chartering a bareboat.
Where am I allowed to sail?
Unless we agree otherwise beforehand, the boat stays within the waters of Ibiza and Formentera. You propose the itinerary, and the skipper confirms it is workable given sea conditions, the weather forecast and the skipper's working hours.
How can I use the boat?
The boat is for pleasure cruising only. Chartering it on, subletting, professional fishing, transporting cargo and regattas are not allowed. The interior is smoke-free, and illegal substances or fishing gear on board can lead us to end the charter early without a refund.
How many people can come aboard?
Only the people named on the passenger list can board, and the total can never exceed the limit on the boat's navigability certificate for the sailing area.
What happens if something breaks during my charter?
If a breakdown isn't caused by you or your guests and stops your trip or affects safety, the skipper takes the boat to the nearest port for repair. There's no compensation for the first two days in port, but after 48 hours you can cancel and get everything you've paid back.
What happens if I return the boat late?
Each day of delay is invoiced as a full week, and you may also be liable for losses to the next guests. Bad weather doesn't count as a reason for lateness, so plan to be at the disembarkation point on time.
About Club Naútico.
Club Náutico Ibiza sits right on Talamanca Beach, one of the calmer, more local-feeling bays on the island — a nice contrast to the chaos of Ibiza Town just minutes away. Read more →
