Frequently Asked Questions

Is this boat insured, and who pays for damage?
Yes — every boat on charter.boats is insured by its operator; we require it. The policy covers the vessel for fire, collision and third-party liability. You're only responsible for damage it doesn't cover, and that's capped at the security deposit. Operator terms: Comprehensive insurance for damages exceeding deposit amount. Liability insurance for third-party damages.
How much will fuel cost?
Fuel isn't included, and on a powerboat it's the biggest variable cost. At a typical planing cruise this boat's 125 HP engine burn roughly 19 L/h — about €36 an hour at €1.87/L. It depends heavily on speed: easing off the throttle cuts it sharply, running flat out raises it. Plan your fuel around the hours and speed you expect to cruise.
Do I need a sailing licence in Croatia?
At least one crew member must hold a recognised sailing licence (ICC or national equivalent) plus a VHF/SRC radio operator certificate, both checked on arrival.
Are pets allowed on board?
Pets are not allowed on the vessel unless we give you special approval in advance, so please ask us before you book if you'd like to bring one.
Where are we allowed to sail?
You're welcome to sail within the territorial waters of Croatia. Sailing beyond that requires our written approval, so let us know in advance if you're planning to cross a border.
Are there any restrictions on how we use the boat?
The boat is for recreational sailing only. You may not sublet it or hand it to others, carry more people than are on the crew list, or sail at night in unsafe weather. The outboard motor should only be used in emergencies unless we agree otherwise in writing.
What happens if we return the boat late?
Please plan your cruise around the weather and aim to be back in the marina the evening before your return day. A late or wrong-place return costs double the daily rate for each started day of delay, and you remain responsible even if bad weather is the cause.
What should we do if something breaks during the charter?
For any repair over 100 euro you'll need our approval and instructions first, and all work must be done by professionals with a proper invoice. In case of an accident or damage, notify the port authority and us right away and prepare a written report.
