Frequently Asked Questions

Is this boat insured, and who pays for damage?
Yes — every boat on charter.boats is insured by its operator; we require it. The policy covers the vessel for fire, collision and third-party liability. You're only responsible for damage it doesn't cover, and that's capped at the security deposit. Operator terms: Guest liable for repair costs up to security deposit amount.
How much will fuel cost?
Fuel isn't included, and on a powerboat it's the biggest variable cost. At a typical planing cruise this boat's 212 HP engine burn roughly 32 L/h — about €60 an hour at €1.87/L. It depends heavily on speed: easing off the throttle cuts it sharply, running flat out raises it. Plan your fuel around the hours and speed you expect to cruise.
Do I need a sailing licence in Croatia?
At least one crew member must hold a recognised sailing licence (ICC or national equivalent) plus a VHF/SRC radio operator certificate, both checked on arrival.
Do I need to send a crew list before the charter?
Yes. Please send us a list with the names and addresses of all crew members no later than two weeks before your charter begins.
What if you feel the skipper is not experienced enough?
If we conclude that the person in charge of the boat lacks the necessary knowledge and skill, we may arrange a skipper to help you get up to speed or assign one for the whole charter for an additional fee.
Are there any uses of the boat that are not allowed?
Yes. You may not sublet or lend the boat to anyone else, use it commercially, or use it for professional fishing. Night sailing is only permitted in safe weather conditions.
Can I sail anywhere I like?
You must stay within the territorial waters of the Republic of Croatia and respect customs and other regulations. We recommend planning your route safely.
What condition should the boat be in when I return it?
Please return the boat clean and in good working order with the water and fuel tanks topped up, just as it was handed to you.
When is the best time to sail in Croatia?
May–October, with the most reliable maestral winds and warm seas in June–September; July–August are the hottest and busiest.
