Frequently Asked Questions

Is this boat insured, and who pays for damage?
Yes — every boat on charter.boats is insured by its operator; we require it. The policy covers the vessel for fire, collision and third-party liability. For damage it doesn't cover, your liability is usually limited to the security deposit. You can lower the deposit by adding the operator’s damage waiver.
How much will fuel cost?
Fuel isn't included, and on a powerboat it's the biggest variable cost. Estimated from engine power: at a typical planing cruise this boat's 115 HP engine burns roughly 17 L/h — about €32 an hour at €1.87/L. It depends heavily on speed: easing off the throttle cuts it sharply, running flat out raises it. Plan your fuel around the hours and speed you expect to cruise.
Do I need a sailing licence in Croatia?
Not if you add a skipper — this boat offers one, who holds the licence. Generally, though: At least one crew member must hold a recognised sailing licence (ICC or national equivalent) plus a VHF/SRC radio operator certificate, both checked on arrival.
When is the best time to sail in Croatia?
May–October, with the most reliable maestral winds and warm seas in June–September; July–August are the hottest and busiest.
