Frequently Asked Questions

Is this boat insured, and who pays for damage?
Yes — every boat on charter.boats is insured by its operator; we require it. The policy covers the vessel for fire, collision and third-party liability. You're only responsible for damage it doesn't cover, and that's capped at the security deposit. Operator terms: Guests are not responsible for losses or damages to the boat during charter unless caused by their own negligence or failure to comply with conduct policies.
How much will fuel cost?
Fuel isn't included — you return the tank full. This boat's ~125 HP engines burn roughly 10 L/h while motoring, so a typical week (about 3 h a day, ~21 h) works out to roughly 210 L ≈ €368 at €1.75/L — scale it to your own plans. Many skippers run one engine on passage to roughly halve fuel use — ask your operator if that’s fine for your boat.
Who decides the route, and can it change?
The captain does. The planned route and islands are not contractual and may be adapted to the weather, sea, wind and safety conditions at the captain's discretion, without any right to a claim. The captain is the first authority on board.
What are the rules of conduct on board?
For everyone's safety, smoking inside the boat, excessive alcohol, drug use, abusive behavior, non-consensual physical contact, and bringing fire-risk items like irons or electric stoves are not allowed. If you notice anything dangerous or inappropriate, tell the captain.
How are cabins assigned on a shared booking?
On a shared boat, cabins are double rather than individual, and places are allocated in strict order of reservation.
Are there any health or age restrictions for guests?
Pregnant guests must carry a medical certificate of fitness to travel, and those over 24 weeks pregnant cannot be accepted. Guests with special needs or who are elderly may travel alone only if self-sufficient, and the captain will assess at boarding whether they can travel safely without assistance.
Is there anything I should know about water and power on board?
Fresh water and energy on board are limited, so please use them responsibly and moderate your consumption during the trip.
