About this boat

Wave 50 isn’t just a catamaran—it’s a floating retreat designed for those who crave space, comfort, and seamless connection with the ocean. Every inch of this yacht has been crafted to enhance your experience, from its expansive interior—the most spacious in its class—to the unique front cockpit, which offers both a cozy lounge and a trampoline, a rare combination on 50ft catamarans. Step up to the upper deck salon, where panoramic views surround a space as large as a traditional main salon, perfect for gathering, dining, or simply soaking in the scenery. And unlike many yachts in this class, our air conditioning runs independently—no need for the engine or generator, ensuring a peaceful and efficient onboard atmosphere. Wave 50 is all about freedom, whether you’re lounging under the sun, enjoying an intimate dinner on deck, or feeling the thrill of the open sea. It’s a yacht built not just for sailing, but for truly living on the water.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this boat insured, and who pays for damage?
Yes — every boat on charter.boats is insured by its operator; we require it. The policy covers the vessel for fire, collision and third-party liability. You're only responsible for damage it doesn't cover, and that's capped at the security deposit. Operator terms: Charterer advised to obtain travel and health insurance
How much will fuel cost?
Fuel isn't included — you return the tank full. This boat's ~120 HP engines burn roughly 9.6 L/h while motoring, so a typical week (about 3 h a day, ~21 h) works out to roughly 202 L ≈ €394 at €1.95/L — scale it to your own plans. Many skippers run one engine on passage to roughly halve fuel use — ask your operator if that’s fine for your boat.
Do I need a sailing licence in Italy?
The skipper needs a valid sailing licence and VHF certificate, ideally issued by their country of residence (an ICC is widely accepted).
Do the crew cook and clean for us?
Our boats are crewed. The hostess keeps the common areas clean and prepares breakfast and a light, simple lunch, while the skipper handles the sailing. For three meals a day or special cuisine you can add a professional chef at extra cost.
What are the rules on board?
No smoking inside the yacht and no loud music after 22:00. Everyone should be fit and responsible while sailing, and the crew may limit alcohol if it becomes a safety risk. The captain can ask any guest behaving aggressively or inappropriately to leave at the nearest port without a refund.
Can we bring pets?
Pets are allowed only with our prior approval, and extra cleaning and ozone-treatment fees apply. Please ask us before booking.
Do we need to cover anything for the crew?
Yes, guests are expected to cover the crew's daily meal expenses as part of the charter experience, along with marina and park fees where the yacht docks. Any gratuity is entirely at your discretion.
Where do we board?
The primary boarding location is Marina di Olbia in Sardinia. In exceptional cases boarding may move to another nearby marina for operational reasons, and we'll let you know in advance so you can approve the change.
About Marina di Portisco
Sitting right at the gateway to the Costa Smeralda, Marina di Portisco is built entirely from local Sardinian granite and cuts a striking figure in the Gulf of Cugnana. Read more →
