Frequently Asked Questions

Is this boat insured, and who pays for damage?
Yes — every boat on charter.boats is insured by its operator; we require it. The policy covers the vessel for fire, collision and third-party liability. For damage it doesn't cover, your liability is usually limited to the security deposit, except where the operator's terms say otherwise. You can lower the deposit by adding the operator’s damage waiver. Operator terms: All available boats are covered by all-inclusive insurance with a deductible, included in the charter fee.
How much will fuel cost?
Fuel isn't included — you return the tank full. Estimated from engine power: this boat's ~114 HP engines burn roughly 9.1 L/h while motoring, so a typical week (about 3 h a day, ~21 h) works out to roughly 191 L ≈ €372 at €1.95/L — scale it to your own plans.
Do I need a sailing licence in Greece?
Not if you add a skipper — this boat offers one, who holds the licence. Generally, though: Two crew with proof of competence are required — a skipper holding an ICC or national equivalent and a co-skipper who signs a declaration of sailing experience.
Can I charter with a skipper or a cook?
Yes, subject to availability. A skipper is EUR 190 per day and a cook/hostess EUR 180 per day, plus food provision. Crew gratuities are not included, and the damage waiver is mandatory on skippered charters.
Do we have to feed the crew?
Yes. Provisions must be aboard for the crew, or you pay an allowance of up to EUR 30 per day per crew member. It is up to you whether they join you ashore for meals.
Do I need to clean the boat before I return it?
No, end cleaning is a mandatory fee that covers it. It also includes one set of bed sheets and towels per person, gas bottles, the first outboard fill and the base marina's fees.
Can I add water toys or extra comforts to my charter?
Yes. Optional extras include a kayak, a stand-up paddle board, a spinnaker, a safety net, junior life jackets, a WiFi router, a generator and a water maker. Some items need an extra refundable deposit. Optional extras are paid in cash on embarkation.
Are there discounts for longer or early bookings?
Yes. Early bookings (until 31 January) get 10% off, repeat clients get 5%, and 3-week and 4-week charters on a weekly rate get 10% and 15%. The maximum discount is 15%.
