Frequently Asked Questions
Is this boat insured, and who pays for damage?
Yes — every boat on charter.boats is insured by its operator; we require it. The policy covers the vessel for fire, collision and third-party liability. You're only responsible for damage it doesn't cover, and that's capped at the security deposit. You can lower the deposit by adding the operator’s damage waiver. Operator terms: All boats insured against: risks from liability to third parties and damage to hull/machinery/equipment, damage liability to third party and passengers, sea pollution liability. Deductible provision applied depending on yacht value
How much will fuel cost?
Fuel isn't included — you return the tank full. This boat's ~90 HP engines burn roughly 7.2 L/h while motoring, so a typical week (about 3 h a day, ~21 h) works out to roughly 151 L ≈ €294 at €1.95/L — scale it to your own plans. Many skippers run one engine on passage to roughly halve fuel use — ask your operator if that’s fine for your boat.
Do I need a sailing licence in Greece?
Two crew with proof of competence are required — a skipper holding an ICC or national equivalent and a co-skipper who signs a declaration of sailing experience.
Can I sail at night?
No, night sailing is not permitted on our charter boats. Please plan your passages so you arrive before sunset.
What sailing experience do I need to charter bareboat?
A bareboat sailing yacht needs two experienced crew: a skipper with a sailing certificate or club membership, and a co-skipper with sailing experience. If your country doesn't issue certificates, a yacht-club reference or sailing resume lets us assess your ability, and we may ask you to hire a professional skipper if your skills aren't…
Can I hire a skipper or crew?
Yes. You can add a professional skipper, a hostess who handles deck work plus breakfast and a light lunch, or a cook who prepares breakfast, lunch and dinner. Crew meals are provided by you, and these extras are settled in cash on embarkation.
What's included in the charter fee?
The fee covers use of the yacht and its full equipment, base mooring, marine insurance, bed linen and towels (one set per person per week), blankets, cooking gas and all taxes and VAT.
Is end cleaning included?
No, end cleaning is not included in the charter fee, along with items such as fuel, water consumption, port fees away from base and food and drinks.
