Yes — every boat on charter.boats is insured by its operator; we require it. The policy covers the vessel for fire, collision and third-party liability. For damage it doesn't cover, your liability is usually limited to the security deposit, except where the operator's terms say otherwise. Not if you add a skipper — this boat offers one, who holds the licence. Generally, though: At least one crew member must hold a recognised sailing licence (ICC or national equivalent) plus a VHF/SRC radio operator certificate, both checked on arrival.

You need to stay within the operator's maritime region. If you'd like to go beyond it, you need the operator's prior written consent. We also ask you to read up on the area beforehand, including currents and sea level changes in strong winds.

If winds above Force 7 on the Beaufort scale are forecast, you must not leave a protective harbour. Please also report your arrival and departure to the local harbour master.

Only members of your immediate group may come aboard. The boat can't be used for business or trade, hired or handed on to a third party without our written consent, or used to carry hazardous goods.

You or your appointed skipper must have a good command of seamanship and enough experience commanding a yacht. If that isn't the case, we can refuse to hand over the boat or appoint a skipper at your expense.

Phone the operator immediately about any damage, collision or unusual event. For damage or injury, write an account and have it countersigned by the harbour master or a doctor. Repairs over EUR 100 need our approval, so keep the original of any replaced part.
