About this boat

Loc Voile Armor invites you to step aboard a magnificent Oceanis 31 DL (for “lifting keel”). You’ll easily handle this sailboat and enjoy smooth, pleasant sailing. Cleverly designed, seaworthy, and comfortable on board, the Oceanis 31 DL follows in the footsteps of its predecessors, offering unforgettable memories at sea. The Oceanis 31 was awarded "Boat of the Year" in the Family Cruiser category upon launch. The lifting keel version allows you to gently ground at low tide, exploring Northern Brittany on foot. You can live by the rhythm of Breton tides if you wish. The Oceanis 31 DL allows you to rest delicately on the seabed thanks to its winged keel and twin rudders. Its spacious, well-organized cockpit provides a friendly space where you’ll feel safe to enjoy every moment at sea. Inside, discover two cabins and a convertible saloon with beautiful woodwork in excellent condition. In terms of equipment, the mainsail has two automatic reef points, an electric windlass, a furling genoa, and an asymmetrical spinnaker. This boat is undoubtedly the ideal sailboat for a comfortable cruise.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this boat insured, and who pays for damage?
Yes — every boat on charter.boats is insured by its operator; we require it. The policy covers the vessel for fire, collision and third-party liability. You're only responsible for damage it doesn't cover, and that's capped at the security deposit. Operator terms: All-risk insurance of vessel with 'rental option' included in rental rates. Covers civil liability, theft, damage from sea events, and total loss.
How much will fuel cost?
Fuel isn't included — you return the tank full. This boat's ~18 HP engine burn roughly 1.4 L/h while motoring, so a typical week (about 3 h a day, ~21 h) works out to roughly 29 L ≈ €57 at €1.95/L — scale it to your own plans.
Do I need a sailing licence in France?
No formal licence is legally required to skipper a bareboat sailing yacht, though charter companies expect a sailing résumé and usually an ICC or equivalent.
What happens if the weather is bad during my charter?
If Meteo-France issues a special weather bulletin for wind of force 7 or more covering most of your booking, we will give you a credit for the full rental amount, valid for twelve months. Days not sailed because of weather are not otherwise refunded, so plan to stay near a port or shelter in a gale.
What if my crew is not experienced enough to sail safely?
We may require a professional skipper at your expense if we judge the crew's skills are not sufficient to keep the crew and boat safe, regardless of any certificates presented.
Do I need a VHF qualification?
For boats fitted with VHF, at least one crew member must hold the required radio diploma; we accept no responsibility if no one aboard is qualified.
How may I not use the boat?
Subletting, lending, sub-chartering, commercial use, professional fishing and transport are all strictly prohibited, and you may only carry the number of passengers stated in your contract.
Do I have to keep a logbook?
Yes. The skipper must keep the logbook we provide up to date, recording navigation, any damage and repairs, and sea events. In a dispute the logbook is the reference used for insurance.
