Frequently Asked Questions
Is this boat insured, and who pays for damage?
Yes — every boat on charter.boats is insured by its operator; we require it. The policy covers the vessel for fire, collision and third-party liability. You're only responsible for damage it doesn't cover, and that's capped at the security deposit. You can lower the deposit by adding the operator’s damage waiver. Operator terms: All-inclusive insurance with deductible included in charter fee.
How much will fuel cost?
Fuel isn't included — you return the tank full. This boat's ~114 HP engines burn roughly 9.1 L/h while motoring, so a typical week (about 3 h a day, ~21 h) works out to roughly 191 L ≈ €372 at €1.95/L — scale it to your own plans. Many skippers run one engine on passage to roughly halve fuel use — ask your operator if that’s fine for your boat.
Do I need a sailing licence in Greece?
Two crew with proof of competence are required — a skipper holding an ICC or national equivalent and a co-skipper who signs a declaration of sailing experience.
What does the skipper or cook do on board, and do I need to feed them?
You can hire a skipper or a cook/hostess subject to availability. Provisions for the crew should be aboard; if not, please allow up to 30 EUR per day per crew member for their food. It's entirely up to you whether you invite the crew to join you ashore for meals.
Are crew tips included in the price?
No, gratuities for the crew aren't included in the rate. Any tip is left to your discretion based on the service you receive.
How does the generator usage work?
You get 8 hours of generator use free each day. Beyond that it's charged per extra hour, or you can opt for unlimited usage for the week. A water maker is also available on request where fitted.
Can I add water toys and extra equipment?
Yes. Options such as a kayak, stand-up paddleboard, spinnaker, safety net and junior life jackets can be added for the charter, some with a small extra security deposit. Just let us know in advance so we can prepare them.
