About this boat

FLO Is a NEEL 47 trimaran, a rare and prestigious vessel that stands out as the only trimaran available for charter in the Egadi Islands area. Measuring 14.2 meters in length and 8.3 meters in beam, this innovative multihull blends exceptional sailing performance, luxurious comfort, and cutting-edge design, making it ideal for both short escapes and extended cruising. Built by NEEL Trimarans and designed by Marc Lombard Yacht Design Group, FLO offers unparalleled stability and generous living space, thanks to its unique three-hull architecture. The boat features a bright and modern layout with 3 cabins, 2 bathrooms, a spacious salon with panoramic views, and expansive outdoor areas — including a wide cockpit and a forward sun deck perfect for sunbathing and relaxation. Technically, FLO is powered by a 60 HP inboard diesel engine, with a cruising speed of approximately 7 knots and a potential maximum speed of 15–18 knots under sail. It has a fuel tank capacity of 300 liters, fresh water capacity of 600 liters, and an upwind sail area of 120 m², combining a 70 m² mainsail and 50 m² genoa. The vessel is constructed with GRP and Airex PVC foam core, ensuring durability and performance.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this boat insured, and who pays for damage?
Yes — every boat on charter.boats is insured by its operator; we require it. The policy covers the vessel for fire, collision and third-party liability. You're only responsible for damage it doesn't cover, and that's capped at the security deposit. Operator terms: Customers may be held liable for damages or losses caused by negligence or misuse, which are covered by the security deposit.
How much will fuel cost?
Fuel isn't included — you return the tank full. This boat's ~60 HP engine burn roughly 4.8 L/h while motoring, so a typical week (about 3 h a day, ~21 h) works out to roughly 101 L ≈ €197 at €1.95/L — scale it to your own plans.
Do I need a sailing licence in Italy?
The skipper needs a valid sailing licence and VHF certificate, ideally issued by their country of residence (an ICC is widely accepted).
Can I steer the boat myself?
No. All charters are skippered and the skipper is on board for the whole trip, so guests are not permitted to operate the vessel at any time.
What happens if the weather turns bad?
For your safety, the skipper may change or cancel the charter when conditions are unsafe. In those cases we'll offer alternative dates or a partial refund.
What's expected of us on board?
Please follow the skipper's instructions and the onboard safety guidelines at all times. The skipper has the final say on anything affecting safety.
When is the best time to sail in Italy?
May–October, warm and settled in summer; July–August are hottest and busiest, with afternoon thermal breezes common.
