Frequently Asked Questions

Is this boat insured, and who pays for damage?
Yes — every boat on charter.boats is insured by its operator; we require it. The policy covers the vessel for fire, collision and third-party liability. You're only responsible for damage it doesn't cover, and that's capped at the security deposit. Operator terms: Lessor recommends guests conclude personal insurance
How much will fuel cost?
Fuel isn't included — you return the tank full. This boat's ~435 HP engine burn roughly 34.8 L/h while motoring, so a typical week (about 3 h a day, ~21 h) works out to roughly 731 L ≈ €1367 at €1.87/L — scale it to your own plans.
Do I need a sailing licence in Croatia?
At least one crew member must hold a recognised sailing licence (ICC or national equivalent) plus a VHF/SRC radio operator certificate, both checked on arrival.
Where are we allowed to sail?
The charter area is limited to the Croatian territorial sea. Any sailing outside it needs our written consent in advance.
What if no one on board has enough sailing experience?
If the person steering doesn't have the necessary maritime and navigation knowledge, we may arrange a skipper at your cost. If you refuse the skipper despite insufficient knowledge, you won't be permitted to leave port.
Can we bring a pet?
Pets are allowed on board only with our prior consent, so please ask us before you book.
Are there things we're not allowed to do with the boat?
You may not use the boat to carry passengers professionally, take part in regattas, tow another vessel except in an emergency, or hand it to third parties. Please also don't sail under the influence of alcohol or drugs, and carry only as many people as there are berths and pieces of safety equipment.
What are the rules for sailing at night or in bad weather?
Night sailing is allowed only in good visibility and safe weather. You shouldn't leave a protected port in bad weather, and on a sailboat you shouldn't leave with raised sails when winds are force 7 or higher. Always plan so the boat can return to its home port even in severe conditions.
When is the best time to sail in Croatia?
May–October, with the most reliable maestral winds and warm seas in June–September; July–August are the hottest and busiest.
