Frequently Asked Questions

Is this boat insured, and who pays for damage?
Yes — every boat on charter.boats is insured by its operator; we require it. The policy covers the vessel for fire, collision and third-party liability. For damage it doesn't cover, your liability is usually limited to the security deposit, except where the operator's terms say otherwise.
Do I need a sailing licence in Greece?
Not if you add a skipper — this boat offers one, who holds the licence. Generally, though: Two crew with proof of competence are required — a skipper holding an ICC or national equivalent and a co-skipper who signs a declaration of sailing experience.
When and how do I pay for the charter?
We split the charter fee into three instalments: 30% within 5 days of booking confirmation, 30% at 90 days before departure, and 40% at 30 days before departure. For late bookings the second instalment moves to the midpoint between confirmation and departure. Charter payments are accepted by wire transfer only.
Is there an extra charge for paying by card?
Charter payments are made by bank wire transfer. If you pay extras that weren't agreed at booking, or last-minute balance payments, by credit card, we add a 1.7% bank charge.
How many people can come aboard?
The number of guests must stay within the boat's registry allowance. You'll receive a crew list to fill in, and if anything changes you should correct it, resend it and confirm the new total number of passengers.
What do I need to send you before the trip?
We need the charterer's full details (name, address, mobile number, ID or passport number and tax number), a completed crew list and the skipper's sailing licence. Please send the skipper's licence at least 30 days before embarkation so the port authorities can validate it, and have the skipper bring the original with them.
Which payment methods can I use for the security deposit?
You can pay the security deposit by credit card (Visa or Mastercard) or instant wire transfer such as Revolut. If your bank's card limit is too low, cash is also accepted.
